S.A.D Horse Rescue prides itself for being a unique horse rescue institution. It focuses on saving draft horses. S.A.D feels that it is these gentle animals that are usually forgotten and neglected. They are often overworked and can develop abnormalities due to lack of nutrition. After they’ve passed their prime, they ar eusally handed over to the slaughterhouse.

S.A.D wants to prevent this from happening. They nurse the horses back to health and give them proper nutrition. S.A.D gives these horses lots of love that they deserve.

S.A.D. was started by Angela and Henry, a couple based in Ontario. Founded in 2004, it has since rescued about a hundred horses. The couple is dedicated to give these horses much love and care.
