Eric Tiemann was driving near Buckman, Minnesota with his girlfriend Robin Winscher. He suddenly noticed smoke bellowing out of a farmhouse.

Sensing the emergency Eric slammed the brakes of his vehicle. He sprinted towards the burning house to look for survivors.

He saw Candice Wehlage in one of the windows. She was nine months pregnant and in the bedroom of the house with two young boys of hers. Eric realized the only way out for them was the window. He asked Candice to drop the boys one by one. After the children were out Eric had to convince Candice to jump out herself in that state. Although she was initially hesitant she could muster enough courage to jump out. Eric held her and managed a safe landing. All the three were out safely. Candice delivered a baby boy after 15 days. Eric was the hero for having saved three lives and one unborn child.
