In the Brokerfield Zoo in Chicago, they have for themselves a local hero. She isn’t human but a female gorilla named Binti Jua.

One day, a 3 year old child climbed a railing and fell 18 ft. into the zoo’s exhibit. Zoo officials hurriedly responded but it was Binti who got to the boy first and carried him to where humans could attend to him. Throughout the whole incident, she kept her own baby Koola clutched onto her back.

The little boy spent 4 days in the hospital  and was released. Because of Binti Jua’s quick thinking and gentleness, the little boy is fine.
