a blog about everyday heroes from around the world
Ednei Lima was driving home in a blinding rainstorm in Connecticut. He suddenly saw a man jump in the Still River in Danbury from a bridge. The waters of the river were swirling and posed a big danger. Ednei was not going to see a person dying in front of him. The Hero in him came to the fore. He jumped into the river for rescue. But once he managed to lay his hands on 19-year-old Andrew Higgenbottom who was attempting suicide To his surprise Andrew started kicking him. Ednei Lima was a Black Belt in jujitsu. He used his strength and skill to wrestle Higgenbottom. He dragged him to the riverbank. He had to hold him till help arrived. Ednei Lima endangered his life to rescue Higgenbottom. He also managed to fight back Higgenbottom to save his life. This was an act of bravery which qualified him to become an Everyday Hero.
