While walking next to the mud filled banks they somehow started to sink into the mud the younger boy lost his boot so his elder brother returned to pull it out and some how got stuck in to the oozing mud. The younger boy went running for help and called out and found Mr Deam ,but bt  the time Mr,Deam arrived the boy was already  sinking up to his shoulders in mud.

Mr Deam tried a whole lot of  different methods but with all the methods the boy only seemed to sink deeper and then ultimately he ran to a neighbor to ask for help.By this time they had managed to get a rope around the boy but pulling on the rope only seemed to worsen the situation

Ultimately Mr.Deam jumped into the sinking and oozing mud to ease out the boy but was  unsuccessful and had to be dragged out for medical attention. The boy unfortunately drowned.

Apr 15, 2008 Author: Hazel | Filed under: Other

Sergeant Jeannette Park will be one of the special guests of the New Zealand Police Museum accepting  bravery award for her feat in  saving herself in an accident.

She survived while  her partner Detective Constable Duncan Taylor killed while attending an incident in Manawatu in July 2002. . On Wednesday evening Sgt Park will hand her New Zealand Bravery Star to the museum to be displayed in their collection.

Although they had gone on a routine call to warn the family that a person who was under a legal injunction was now hovering in their locality; the situation took a nasty turn with the  accused driving around the victims family desperately and terrorizing them!

As the two Police officers appraised the car Detective Constable Taylor was shot and killed without warning . Detective Park was shot also but was unable to come to the aid of her colleague.

The injured Detective Park then crawled over 500 meters of farmland to a farm-house to call for help from Police Operations. As she was taking the occupant to a place of safety another police which had arrived car was in danger of being shot and killed so she  crawled up a  ditch to  warn the officers to move to safety.
